The Germany-based Help Yetim Humanitarian Aid Organization, established by Turkish citizens, is making a difference in Africa and beyond. Operating in 20 countries across three continents, the organization is involved in numerous projects, including sacrificial donations, water wells, clothing for orphans, food distribution, and providing live goats to impoverished families, reaching hundreds of thousands in need.
250 Orphans Receive Eid Clothes
Help Yetim’s team, led by President Cahit Ataş, traveled to Tanzania’s Dar es Salaam, delivering clothes to 250 orphans in rural areas. Ataş emphasized that Eid al-Adha is about sharing and highlighted their year-round efforts to meet the basic needs of orphans, including education, healthcare, food, clothing, and shelter.
Ataş explained:
“Donations collected go towards projects like renovating orphanages, building libraries or dormitories, providing healthcare services, organizing social activities for orphans, and purchasing Eid clothes. As Help Yetim Humanitarian Aid Organization, we also lay foundations and open water wells, mosques, and schools in various countries.”
Support for 250 Families
Ataş shared that 250 families in hunger-stricken villages received dry food aid. During Eid, sacrificial meat will be distributed to thousands of poor and needy families. He underlined that the sacrificial donations are conducted with great care, adhering to ethical standards and under veterinary supervision, particularly in regions like Africa.
Building Bridges of Compassion
With a decade of experience, Ataş highlighted their aim to bring smiles to thousands of faces this Eid through sacrificial donations. He explained their mission to support people in disaster-affected regions, from Africa’s deserts to Asia’s steppes and the Middle East’s conflict zones. They also focus on reaching communities in the Balkans, with which Turkey shares deep historical ties.
Ataş expressed the significance of aid from Europe’s charitable Turkish community, emphasizing that such gestures strengthen bonds of brotherhood and unity. “We are committed to building bridges of compassion, connecting the donations from our generous community to those in need,” Ataş said.
"We Wait for You Every Year"
Zubeydah Mewlidi, a caretaker for seven orphans in the rural area of Kimobirca in Dar es Salaam, expressed her gratitude to the donors and to Turkey for remembering them this Eid. Mewlidi shared that the early assistance allowed them to celebrate in advance, saying, "Every year, we eagerly wait for your arrival and look forward to the visit of the Turks."
Africa, despite its rich natural resources, continues to struggle with poverty due to various political and economic factors. Issues like civil conflict and hunger remain persistent, alongside challenges in accessing clean water and healthy food.
