Sekidde Yunusi, 36, who lives 220 km away from Kampala, the capital of Uganda, one of the countries struggling with hunger in Africa, prayed to Turkish philanthropists by taking her share of the sacrificial meat distributed by Help Yetim Humanitarian Aid Organization.
Humanitarian aid organizations founded by Turks continue to provide aid to African countries facing a great humanitarian disaster due to floods, drought and famine. Help Yetim Humanitarian Aid Organization, which continues its aid work in Uganda, located in the eastern part of the African continent, 8 thousand kilometers away from Turkey, delivers the donations given by European and Turkish philanthropists to those in need.
Volunteers of Help Yetim Humanitarian Relief Organization, an international aid organization that helps orphans, orphans and needy families in 22 countries in 4 continents, continue to make thousands of victims, including orphans and orphans, smile in Uganda, where they came within the scope of aid work such as food and clothing, sacrifice slaughter, permanent projects such as live milk goat distribution, mosque construction, water well and cataract projects.
Within the scope of these aids, Help Yetim Humanitarian Aid Organization distributed the meat of the sadaqah and votive sacrifices to families in need in rural areas. Yunusi, who showed his joy when he learned that the Turks came to Uganda to distribute aid by wearing a Turkish flag t-shirt that was given to him five years ago, said that every year he only gets meat in his house with the meat distributed by Turkish philanthropists.
Explaining that they experienced two holidays together in Ramadan thanks to Turkey, Yunusi said, “Since there was no meat distribution on Eid al-Adha last year due to the coronavirus, we will be able to eat meat for the first time in two years. This Ramadan, thank God, we will have a double feast. We will have meat in our house and we will celebrate Eid al-Fitr.”
Yunusi thanked Cahit Ataş, the President of Help Yetim Humanitarian Aid Organization, who distributed the meat of the sacrificial sacrifices, and expressed his gratitude to him by praying for the benefactors.
DISTRIBUTING AID IN 22 COUNTRIES IN 4 CONTINENTS
Cahit Ataş, President of Help Yetim Humanitarian Aid Organization, said that this year they made up for the fact that they could not distribute during Ramadan last year due to the pandemic and that they carried out a comprehensive aid organization.
Pointing out that during Ramadan, collective iftar meals were held in 11 mosques and schools, as well as charity and votive sacrifices and food aid, Ataş said, “As Help Yetim, we once again remembered to be an ummah with the humanitarian aid activities we organized by reaching the needy in 4 continents and 22 countries, especially in Africa, during Ramadan. We hit the road saying that whoever shares abundance, brotherhood and love knows. Today, we are happy to deliver the trusts of our benefactors in Uganda.
We mobilized to make the blessed month of Ramadan, when the feelings of charity and solidarity are at their peak, an occasion of goodness and beauty in the best way. Our humanitarian aid efforts for those in need, in addition to sacrifice and food distribution, zakat, votive offering and fitrah distributions are carried out by Help Yetim volunteers all over Uganda. With humanitarian aid, we once again remembered and reminded that we are an ummah, and we experienced the happiness of worrying about the troubles of your brother and sister.”
Explaining that the sacrifices whose proxies were taken to be slaughtered in Uganda were slaughtered and distributed to families in need, Ataş added that philanthropists can also support the projects organized by the association if they wish.
ABOUT UGANDA
According to information compiled from United Nations (UN) data, approximately 23 million people in East African countries such as Somalia, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Djibouti, Sudan, Uganda and Burundi are in need of emergency food aid. Famine and starvation-related deaths are increasing, raising concerns about the future of the region's people. While severe drought and civil war are the main causes of the food crisis, economic instability, changes in the rainfall regime and migration traffic are also among the factors that trigger the crisis. Food prices continue to rise in the region due to animal deaths and declining harvests.
Help Yeti, which carries out Ramadan Organizations with the slogan “Ramadan is the best month to share!”, has set the price of Food Package 30 €, Eid allowance 10 €, Orphan Dressing 35 €, Fitrah 10 €, Collective Iftar 3 € and Kafafah Daily 10 €.
